Museums Advisor - Museums Association of Saskatchewan
We are seeking a full time permanent Museums Advisor. We offer a small office environment to someone who enjoys variety, is comfortable multitasking and who can work independently and in a team setting.
Reporting to the Executive Director the responsibilities of the position will focus on planning, evaluation, and administration of all advisory/consultation programs and services of MAS. Activities include, but are not limited to: collaboration with stakeholders in planning and development of consultation activities and services; develop and conduct a range of consultation services targeting member museums including on-site visits; develop and produce resource materials including manuals, guides, templates for both print and online publication; design and conduct program and services evaluation; support/facilitate the Network program; manage promotional aspects of Advisory Services; maintain MAS Resource Library; oversee review/revision of standards document; ensure efficient record-keeping procedures are in place; and participate in the research and writing of funding applications and follow-up reports.
Qualifications/Competencies:
- Applicable university degree or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience
- Sound knowledge of broad range of museum operational practices
- Practical experience with non-profit organizations and community volunteer groups
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong critical thinking skills with an emphasis on ‘thinking outside the box’
- Familiarity with museum community
- Demonstrated planning, evaluation, organizational, and time-management skills
- Demonstrated self-starter
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced team environment
- Sense of humour
- Valid driver’s licence and a willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends as required
Hours: 35 hours per week

Archival Coordinator - PAVED Arts
Currently an employment opportunity exists for a position of Archival Coordinator to properly catalogue and index the video and audio collection according to the Rules for Archival Description (RAD). Also, the position will facilitate the digitization and proper archival storage of the collection. The goal of this project is not only preservation and identification but to allow PAVED Arts staff, members and community at large to easily access, view and study the collection. The Archival Project received financial support from the Saskatchewan Lotteries Trust Fund for Sport, Culture and Recreation through a SaskCulture Capacity Building Grant.
Major Responsibilities Include:
- Verification of records
- Create a RAD compliant inventory of the current video and audio collection
- Facilitate digitization of collection
- Facilitation of proper archival storage for current video and audio collection
- Establishing of proper archival protocols for the preservation of future video works produced at PAVED Arts
- Completing a final report of the archival process
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of archival theory and practice, as well as the use of Rules for Archival Description (RAD) for the creation of finding aids and cataloguing.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel.
- Basic understanding of digital video formatting (codecs and aspect ratio).
- A demonstrated record of working with arts organizations, developing archival protocols and a thorough understanding of archiving practices.
The position will commence on June 1 and complete on August 31, 2012. This is a 24 hour per week position at $18 per hour.

Temporary Community Consultant - Arts City of Saskatoon
Saskatoon, SK
The duties include:
- Coordinating the development, delivery, implementation and evaluation of civic arts programs and services;
- Informing civic administration about issues and concerns affecting the municipality, arts organizations and agencies and recommends improvements to relevant civic policies, programs and projects;
- Identifying opportunities and facilitates partnerships with arts organizations, business and other agencies to benefit arts development in the community;
- Researching trends, issues and policies in the arts.
We are looking for someone with:
- A degree in a related field such as fine arts, arts management, cultural administration, history or public administration;
- Six years progressive experience working in community development including direct experience in working with grant administration and arts programming and two years’ supervisory experience;
- Demonstrated knowledge of the theory and practice of grant administration and grant issues.
Salary:
$5,162.66 to $5,680.82 per month.

Program Assistant - Estevan Arts Council
Individual will assist with arranging and promoting the council's programs, grant applications and follow-up reports and be available for media interviews and presentations to community groups.
Position will be part-time with flexible hours up to 15 hours per week. Starting salary $16/hour.
