Financial Assistance
Description
Network Operating Grants of up to $500.00 are awarded annually to active networks to facilitate contact among museums in a self-determined geographic areas. This grant is intended to provide basic financial assistance toward the operations of the network. It may be used to cover the cost of member travel to network meetings, Network Representative expenses (eg. telephone, postage, photocopying, etc) and other meeting expenses. The operating grant is limited to recognized operational expenses and may not be used to pay for network projects. The network operating grants facilitate member museums in rural Saskatchewan to come together in a collegial manner. It also enables rural museums to access targeted training in the form of the Network Knowledge Exchange.
Purpose
The Network Operating Grants facilitate the Networks in their role as vehicles for increasing communication among museums and between museums and MAS board and staff. The Network Operating grants also enable the networks to undertake cooperative activities among member museums by providing them an opportunity to meet and work together. Finally, they ensure that the rural museums have an opportunity to meet regularly where they can participate in the Network Knowledge Exchange.
