Saskatchewan Family of National Historic Sites

This SIG is a partnership between Parks Canada and the Museums Association of Saskatchewan. The Family of National Historic Sites of Canada (NHSC) are special places designated by the Historic Sites and Monument Board of Canada (HSMBC) to be of national significance and are part of the system of National Historic Sites. Those sites not owned or operated by Parks Canada are commonly referred to as the extended Family of NHSC or "the Family" This SIG provides supports,  increases networking opportunities and creates another form for the advocacy of Saskatchewan's cultural-heritage community . The Family SIG can offer support, especially in the area of Built Heritage conservation and management, to the broader museum community.

The Saskatchewan Family of NHSC is a diverse group including historical, archaeological, built heritage, landscapes and museums. The network will continue to grow as new sites are designated and as the existing sites develop the desire and gain capacity to participate.

We are always seeking new members to join our discussions, plan professional development opportunities, and connect with others in the arts, culture, and heritage community. If you are a representative at a Saskatchewan-based National Historic Site, we encourage you to contact MAS (see contact information below) to find out more!
