The Art of Grant-Writing

The Art of Grant-Writing
This one-day workshop, designed for the novice grant-writer, guides you through granting process (writing, organization, evaluation) in order to strengthen your skills and knowledge. In a combination of lecture and group discussion, you will learn about the art of writing (simple, repetitive, but interesting!), planning and setting goals, and the importance of organization for a healthy and dynamic museum. As part of the session, you will become a juror and evaluate a case study museum grant – the description, budget and financial information, and organization - then YOU decide who gets the funds and why! Other topics covered may include: tips and terms, final reporting, annual cycle of grants, funding sources.
