Coaching Program
Coaching Program offers museum professionals the services of a coach who will provide on-site guidance and expertise in a specific area of need that you identify. The goal is to support museums in achieving their objectives by providing individualized coaching to one or more staff within an institution, over a period of one to two days, without having to leave the museum. This is a short term one-to-one intensive learning experience when you most need it. The coach will not act as a consultant, but can provide information and feedback, answer questions, act as a sounding-board, demonstrate and explain, assist in generating solutions/ideas/plans, or just give support and guidance.

* Storyline Development for Exhibitions
* An Introduction to Project Management
These self-directed learning modules were created for CHIN (Canadian Heritage Information Network) by the Learning Coalition for all museum workers who want to improve their skills in these topics. The modules are especially useful for any museum embarking on a Community Memories project. To access the modules go to www.chin.gc.ca, then go to ‘Knowledge Exchange’, then to ‘Online Courses’, and then click on the modules under the heading ‘Digitization and Content Development’.
Inter-provincial Peer Exchange Program partners you with a colleague from Alberta, Ontario or Nova Scotia and is available at your convenience. This is a self-directed learning program that partners colleagues who believe they can learn from one another by sharing knowledge, skills, approaches, perspectives and ideas. The goal is to build on one another’s knowledge and experience thereby increasing expertise across museums.
Brochures with detailed descriptions and registration forms are available for all program offerings. Contact the Director of Learning.
Travel Assistance grants are available from the Canadian Museums Association through MAS, only by application in advance. Application forms are available from the MAS office or by visiting the Canadian Museums Association website.
